Golden Living’s Dr. James Avery Named 29th Most Powerful Physician Executive in Healthcare

Washington, DC, April 29, 2010 — Dr. James Avery, Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Golden Living, has been named one of the 50 Most Powerful Physician Executives in Healthcare by Modern Healthcare and Modern Physician magazines. Ranked number 29 on the list, Dr. Avery is the only long-term care physician executive to be included.

The list is created annually by Modern Healthcare, with physicians being nominated and voted on by readers of the magazine as well as the larger healthcare community.

Ranking is based on the number of votes each candidate received.

Dr. Avery is an active and recognized leader who routinely speaks at conferences within the field of healthcare. He is board-certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Pulmonary. Dr. Avery also is a Fellow in the American College of Physicians, a Fellow in the American College of Chest Physicians, and a Fellow in the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
